In this newsletter I want to share with my ladies (and anyone who loves their ladies) a very innovative new BREAST SCREENING


technology. It is called QT Ultrasound - It is a painless radiation free screen for breast cancer.

There are only six facilities in the US right now that offer it, but I expect that to change. I actually travelled to Philadelphia (at Perfeqtion Imaging) to have it done and test it out for myself. Like many of you I am concerned about repeated radiation (and crushing of the breast tissue), so I have been relying on self exams, regular ultrasounds, and thermography, as well as blood tests

for early detection.

All those are good, but you still wonder "have I missed something?" Especially with cancers of all kinds on the rise.

The actual process was fantastic. It took about 30 minutes all together and the cost was $600.

They do not accept insurance. You lie face down on a table and place the breast one at a time in a "well" of water for about 5-8 minutes. That's it.

Once done, I was able to look through some of my images and the resolution was rather stunning, which increased my confidence in the process. It did take almost 3 weeks to get my final results which is a bit long, however I do like the fact that in this facility, both a breast radiologist and a breast surgeon review the films.

I will definitely be implementing this into my yearly screening. In fact I have reached out to the QT company to check into bringing it to Dallas.. More on that later!
